While Sasha is trying to figure out how to put rollers in her hair, I'll try to zip off a few thoughts. (She took these out of my bathroom closet and dragged them out here into the living room!!....Anyone want an 8 pound monster???)
Well,folks...today is the first day of summer...and you know what that means don't you? Only 187 more shopping days left "til Xmas!! Just wanted to remind those of you who have last minute shopping to do! Seriously, the days here are gorgeous! Mostly in the 80s-90s every day with occasional thunderstorms in the evening, although it's been over a week since we have had any rain. We have cottonwood petals flying in the air all the time right now. They have passed a law in Colorado that no one can plant a cottonwood tree anymore due to the mess they make. My plants on my patio are blooming nicely...I do so miss my lilac tree plant I had back in Brunswick, but maybe someday I'll get another one. That one was given to me by Mike and Barbara for Mother's Day so it was kinda special.
Richard and Toni were in town last night and they invited me to go to dinner with them. Richard is my 2nd-nephew who pastors a church up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He and Toni are on sabbathical right now as Toni is still going through treatments for her breast cancer, and they both needed some well deserved R&R. Toni does quilting, so they were here in Fort Collins looking at some quilting stores. They took me to Black-Eyed Peas which is a fabulous restaurant if you like down-home cooking. I had the meatloaf and they had the pork chops. We had a wonderful evening of conversation and looking at pictures; also talked about the places they have been while on leave from their church. Toni talked about their oldest daughter - Christine - and what a difficult time she had with her three pregnancies. Richard and Toni have 5 grandchildren....doesn't seem possible to me that my favorite nephew is old enough to be a grandfather!!! Guess that makes me old, huh???
OOPS....I see hair curlers all over the living room floor so I guess Sasha has figured out how to get into the package. Shouldn't be long before she has her hair up in rollers! Better go supervise.
