Lovely Day at the Lake

Yesterday was a pretty full day for me....for a change. A lady from my church - Eloise - picked me up around 10:45 am and we went to the church to pick up some other ladies before leaving for a picnic at North Shore Park in Loveland. There were eleven of us all together and we had a wonderful time eating and playing board games in a pavilion on the shore of the lake. The group is known as the Senior Saints and I was invited to join them after church Sunday morning. I guess the group does something together once a month. It was, as Pam said, a good way for me to meet new people in my age bracket and develop new friendships. All the ladies were very nice and the question of the day was did I miss the Maine lobster. They were quite surprised to know I never ate lobster when I lived in Maine. After lunch, we played dominoes at one picnic table and a card game at the other table. There were squirrels running around looking for hand-outs and scads of birds overhead. On the lake we saw a family of geese and across the lake from where we were, there were lots of children playing. Of course, my camera was home on the desk....what else is new? I had a great time and we got back here around 3 pm. I laid down for an hour as the sun was very hot and walking around part of the shoreline with Donna and Eloise was tiring in the heat. I also knew I had to be ready to go with Pam at 6 pm to our monthly knitting club meeting. There was only 3 of us at that as many people are on vacation or had other obligations last evening. The three of us knitted and yakked...and ate and drank. I guess you could say we "stitched and bitched" which is our club motto!
