Mother's Day - 2009

For those of you who read Pam's blog...this will be old news, as she has posted a similiar blog. For the rest of you - the three good looking ladies on the right are Rob's "beauties"!!! He took us all out to brunch on Mother's Day plus Siena. Trying to please 4 females at the same time can be taxing for any guy. However, he did very well, despite the menu changes, the long wait, the fussy baby, and some near mishaps getting to the salad bar and back. Rob and I had expected to have quiche and waffles, as the person he made the reservations with told him these would be available. Not sure what happened, but the restaurant was very hectic as it was packed. It was a special day for Pam as it was her first Mother's Day. She got gifts from her mothers, her husband, and her daughter. I got a potted plant for my patio and some gift certificates for the Olive Garden and a movie. I also got gift certificates and cash from my other children, so I'd say the day turned out fine for all of us. It was a little showery, but warm.

It was a tease for today's weather. I have my AC on for the first time this year! It was 89 degrees here at 2 pm with NO humidity and a gentle breeze. I had several errands to do today so was glad when I returned home to my cool apartment. It's beautiful around Fort Collins. Pam's lilacs are all blossomed out...pretty lavendar and my tree beside my living room window is all blossomed out with the huge white flowers it has every spring. Many yards and patios are displaying early spring flowers and the sprinkler systems are working full-time now. This may not be Heaven, but I'll take it for the years I have left here on Earth.

Wow - 89 degrees.....I can't imagine what that would even feel like since I haven't felt it for so long! Enjoy and appreciate each and every day when you are having that kind of weather. It doesn't really matter what you did or didn't have to eat, does it? The most important thing is the fact that you were taken out for a nice lunch by your wonderful son-in-law and that you all got to spend time together, right? After all, I'm sure the restaurant must have had many things to choose from on their menu.
