It's time to let everyone know what a wonderful 8-day vacation I had last week. We left here at 5 am on Saturday - 9/5 and got home at 10 pm 9/12. We couldn't have asked for better weather for the whole week....unreal, as Maine has had a whole summer of rain. Pam made arrangements for Brian, Siena, Me and her to rent a cottage on Bailey Island for a week...right on the ocean. On Sunday, Pam and Siena attended her sister - Jennifer's - wedding. Brian and I visited some people, went to LLBeans, went to the cemetery, ate at Fat Boys, and checked out the changes in Brunswick. Monday we went to Friendlys and had breakfast with Missie and her two kids and then went over to Barbara's in Freeport for a family reunion and cook-out. There were 30+ people there and enough food to feed an army. My sister flew in from Alabama, and my niece drove down from Benton with her two kids. The biggest surprise for me was when MaryLee Crocker walked through the entrance to the backyard. She drove down from Veazie to surprise me....and she did! During the week we went to Popham Beach, Fort Edgcomb, Boothbay Harbor, Reid State Park and another trip to LLBeans for Pam to shop. Along the way to some of these destinations, we purchased Maine blueberries, Maine strawberries, fresh Maine corn, and Brian got two lobsters off the boat at Mackeral Cove to share with the KFC Barbara and Mike brought down to the cottage one night. Old habits die hard....those Maine food purchases brought my taste buds alive!! The highlight of my week was the attending of my 57th high school reunion. I saw many people I haven't seen for 40-50 years and more, as I haven't made it to many of my class reunions.
The whole week went off with few problems. We all either had colds or got colds on the trip, but nothing to keep us from enjoying our vacation. The weather was perfect for flying and for driving. Pam and the baby and I spent 1+ hours driving from here to Denver to board the plane, spent 4+ hours in the plane, and then spent another 4+ hours driving from Boston to Bailey Island. Then Pam had to drive back to the NH border the day after we got there for the wedding. Brian was luckier because he flew directly into Portland. We all agreed we had a blast and it was hard to leave our friends and family behind when Saturday rolled around. Hopefully, we'll see ya next year!!
PS...more pictures to come soon.

Yea for your great Maine vacation!
We will miss you guys!
The cemetary headstone looks really nice, and that handsome gentleman kneeling beside it isn't too bad either!
