The View
Wednesday evening, Pam took me to a coffee/dessert social at one of her friend's homes. It was a get-together of Pam and two of her friends with their mothers, who had moved to Fort Collins recently. The hostess had a lovely home just three blocks from my apartment. She also has a four month old son who was the center of attention for the first few minutes. Her husband made home-made lattes on a built-in latte machine in their kitchen. I chose tea as I don't drink coffee. The dessert was the best peppermint brownies I've ever tasted and were made by the hostess's mother. As we were all seated around the dining room table, eating and chatting, it reminded me of the TV show...The View. This morning TV show consists of 5 women sitting around a table with their coffee cups, discussing "hot topics" of the day. We also discussed many of today's issues from politics to child care. It was an enjoyable evening, and I met some lovely people. Actually, everybody I've met here in Fort Collins have been very pleasant and friendly. If people around the world could copy this example, there'd be no more domestic violence, conflicts, or wars. Guess that is wishful thinking, huh?
