Seems like yesterday my best friend and I were sitting in the home economics room, throwing blackboard erasers back and forth from one end of the room to the other...just to annoy Miss Birch. On September 11th, I hope to be attending my 57th class reunion. Pam and I are making arrangements currently to go to Maine around the 2nd of September to visit friends and family. Pam plans to attend the wedding of her sister - Jennifer - in Ogunquit, and show off the baby to several family members who have not seen Siena yet. There is a possibility that Brian will also join us in Maine for a few days, which would be nice since I haven't seen him in over 5 years.
Many of my classmates have passed on and many don't bother to attend or are unable to attend reunions. The last time I went was our 50th reunion when I was still living in Brunswick. Currently, there are 90 of my classmates still alive out of a graduating class of 127. Several of these will not be attending due to health issues or distances they would have to travel. I wouldn't be there if Pam and I hadn't planned this trip to Maine before I even realized how the dates coordinated.
Traveling with a 8 month old will be an experience, but if I am able to make arrangements, I will be able to help Pam. It will involve a lot of luggage and a stroller/carseat to get around the airports, at the wedding, shopping, etc. Hopefully, Pam's friends will be able to help her with other big items such as the highchair, crib, etc. We will go shopping in Maine for diapers, wipes, food, etc. to keep the amount of luggage to a minimum.
I hope to get to see Barbara and Mike, my grandchildren, and my great grandchildren while I am in Maine. My newest great granddaughter is still in a neo-natal incubator so am not sure if I will get to see her or not. I'm anxious to see how Trent and Julia have grown.
The trip to Maine - if I go - will mean missing at least 3 days of school. Since I will, hopefully, be taking 3 courses this fall, that will be a lot of work to make up. It's worth it to go "home again"!

I am so glad that you get to go back home to Maine!
Maybe!! Plans aren't firm yet due to finances and schedules. The best part will be attending my 57th highschool reunion. Didn't know I was that ancient, did you????
