SNOW.....ALREADY????

If today is any indication of what type of winter Colorado is facing this year...I'm leaving town!. It has been snowing here on the Front Range all day with cold temperatures. Of course, it had to be a day I had to go to school. Standing at the bus stop this morning in 30 degree temperatures with a stiff wind and snow was a real picnic!! Because the temperatures rose into the low 40s later this afternoon, we have nothing on the trees or roadways to show for our all-day snow show...just a lot of water running down the streets and parking lots. It's supposed to be up in the 50s tomorrow and then we plunge into a deep-freeze Saturday. We are expecting to get 2-4 inches of snow from Saturday's storm with a high temperature for the day of 34 degrees. Hell - even Maine doesn't have snow this early!!

I pity the football and baseball teams that will both be playing here in Denver this weekend. The football players will manage better than their fans, as they play in all kinds of weather. On the other hand, baseball players tend to be wimpy and don't fare well in these kind of weather conditions. The Rockies are in a play-off series so will probably play, as they can't risk losing their momentum. The fans would be better off watching the games from their warm living rooms than sitting on those cold hard bleachers.

Seems like just last week we had bright sunshine and temperatures up in the 80s....it was!! What happened? I'm not ready for winter...thought that was why I moved out here to Colorado? Oh,well; guess complaining won't change what is to be,so I'll have to get out my Christmas cards and get to work. January is just around the corner!!

Glad to see that places other than the U.P. get early snow. Sounds like we are due for some this weekend too.

Sorry to say, but I'm glad it is you guys and not us! Although, I think we are about ready as we will ever be at 97 Hunter Road. We just got SO short changed in the spring and summer (what summer?) that I feel to even it out, it should be another one's turn. For now. Won't be long, though!!!
