Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

My snowman jumped into the plant pot to keep warm as my apartment is on the chilly side today. A lot of cold air comes in around my air conditioner as it isn't covered in the winter. I have tried to put home-made draft dodgers in front of the entrance door and along the bottom of the patio door, and my thermostats are all on 75 today - which is rare for me.
Did I mention - It is very cold here today....currently 19 degrees with a wind chill of -12. It was 5 above zero this morning when I got up. Because of the severe cold and the wind, I had to stay home from school today as I can't breath with my emphysema in this kind of cold. Sasha proudly has her sweater on today - and usually she hates that thing. Next week is final exam week and now I'll have to make up my math test also. Some of the roads are very icy as we got 2" of snow Tuesday night as this cold snap was coming in. The calcium/salt mixture they put down does no good in these temperatures so the vehicles just grind the snow down to a slippery icy surface on the roadways which has been the basis for several accidents this week. The main arteries are bone dry and if your car starts - you're good to go.

The frustrating part for Rob is that the mountains have not gotten a lot of snow yet. He is hoping they get a bunch of snow before his end-of-year break from work gets here and before Brian gets here. They are both planning to go skiing some during that week. It's so cool as Pam and Rob both have the end of December off and Brian will be here the week of Christmas plus Breanna and Brian. Big Christmas Eve dinner planned this year as Arlene and I will be there plus some of Pam/Rob's friends.

My last day of school is December 14th and then I'll be pushing to get my cards written, finish my shopping, do the dreaded wrapping, etc. I have to make a dessert for the Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve day also. Despite the economic conditions for many this year, it is going to be a fantastic family holiday for Siena's 1st Xmas and Brian's 1st Xmas here in Colorado. It is also Breanna/Brian's 1st Christmas here in Colorado and Breanna is excited. Hope she and Brian like to ski or snowboard.

Me - I'll be content to sit home around the fireplace (even though it isn't on) and savor the beautiful Christmas music, TV specials, football, etc. I'll be resting up for spring semester which starts in January. Meanwhile, I better "put another log on the fire" as it has just dropped to 16 degrees. See ya in the spring!!!

just a small clarification - this isn't brian's first christmas in CO. He was out here the last time I made a Christmas ham. Doesn't happen too often, but not the first time.

You have too many Brians in your family....

Tell me about it....and a one coming in 2011 when Breanna gets married. Her fiancee's real name is Martin but he goes by Brian. Should be fun at Pam's Christmas week when both my son - Brian and Breanna and her Brian are both there. Then of course, Breanna's father's name is Brian. We could do Brian 1,2 and 3....but who would be Brian #1???

Well let's see, Brian #1 would be your son. Brian #2 would be your son-in-law. Brian #3 would be the future grandson-in-law. Easy!

Love the falling snow, btw! :)

If it gets too confusing during Christmas at Pam's, you can probably call Breanna's Brian - Martin. He goes by that at work and school I believe. Brian K's father is Martin, and I think his grandfather is also Martin, so there are three Martin's in his family, which is just as confusing as all the Brian's. Let's just hope that Breanna and Brian (Martin) do NOT name their first son, Brian or Martin. What in the heck did I just say??!

Oh, Lordy....that would add to the confusion. Missie - you got the order so right. Do you read palms also???

Don't worry mom, I won't be naming my child anything that starts with a B! It'll keep things simpler- haha
