Mother's Day Memories!!!

Well, yesterday was a good day and a not-so-good day. My fun started in the morning when I took my blood pressure and it was 185! Naturally, I was quite surprised, so I took it again about every 15 minutes, and couldn't get it below 171....so I called Pam. We were both concerned about the jump from 141 +/- which is where it has been averaging to 185. She took me to Urgent Care, which is like an emergency room. After the initial paperwork and waiting, I finally saw a doctor. Two days before, my regular doctor had changed my blood pressure medicine as my numbers had been slowly climbing beyond where they should be. I was on the lowest dosage possible on the new med and it included no water reduction element as the old one had. She thinks this is why my pressure spiked so high. She doubled my dosage plus prescribed a diarretic to also take. Today my blood pressure is down to 138/64 which is much better. Given a few more days, it should be back to normal. Kinda scary for awhile for both Pam and I. Note the lovely "Mother's Day card" I got from the clinic!

Pam took me to the pharmacy and then brought me home. She and Rob picked Arlene and I up at 6 pm for dinner in Loveland at a beautiful Italian restaurant. The kids gave us greenhouse products for gifts, which we both appreciated. I got a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from Brian and gift certificates from Barbara and Brenda. Except for the little bump in the road in the forenoon - it was a good day.

Sounds like your Mom's Day started out similar to mine!
