My New Toy

One thing I got for Mother's Day with my gift certificates was an iPod Shuffle. Wow....what an amazing piece of technology. Who would think a piece of equipment no larger than a postage stamp could hold over 150 songs! I have downloaded itunes and several of my CDs as it's much easier to take the iPod on the bus or use while I am studying. I had to carry my portable CD player everywhere I went and could only play one CD at a time. This is a lot more music in a much smaller container.

I have so many things here on this desk that weren't even heard of 20 years ago: a PC w/monitor and speakers; an iPod w/ charger cord connected to the computer; a Palm Pilot; a digital camera with download cord to PC; a cell phone w/charger cord; headphones for the iPod; and a connector box between the computer and the internet. Too much technology for an old lady like me. I thought when I got a VCR that I was really progressing to this century! Now that sits idle while I use a DVD player for movies. Who thought learning the alphabet in kindergarten would come in so useful!

Ooh! I wanted one of those for Mom's Day, but I got a lawn chair instead! And I haven't even used it yet cuz the kids like to play with it!

Glad to hear you are having fun with your new toy. *Technically* there were PCs and Cell Phones 20 years ago, they just weren't as common (or small, or powerful) as they are now.
