Here Today - Gone Tomorrow

The difference between 2 feet of snow in Colorado and 2 feet of snow in Maine is ours is gone within the week and theirs stays on the ground until July!! Although we had places here in Ft.Collins with over 10 feet of snow plowed up in parking lots, etc; today there is no trace of our Halloween storm. That's fine with me. I'm sure we will get more soon, but for now I'm enjoying the 70s again.

I went to a meeting yesterday with my guidance counsiler, and all I need to graduate with an associates degree in general studies is ONE course....I can graduate in May of 2010. However, since I have already been awarded financial aid through September of next year, I intend to take as many classes as I can while I can. FRCC doesn't do bachelor's degrees as they are a 2-yr. community college and I have decided going to CSU is not going to happen due to my health, class sizes, age, etc. I'm afraid my college days will be over by next September unless I can cover a course a year with my Colorado stipend. We'll look into that next year. For now, I'm concentrating on finishing this semester with a 3.8-4.0 GPA. Too bad my GPA scores from Maine couldn't be transferred, but it gives me more incentive to work harder knowing it is a new ball game here in Colorado.

Speaking of ball games - what has happened to some of my favorite football teams like Green Bay, Giants, and the Broncos. They have all lost their last two games or more and are facing even tougher schedules for the rest of the season. Looking good for the NE Patriots !!

My favorite season of the year is coming up....the celebration of our Lord's birth. December can be overwhelming for most of us as there is so much to crowd into 31 days, but we all manage to survive for another year. Traditional music,TV shows, decorations, cards, gift shopping, wrapping, etc. are all part of these busy days to say nothing of the happenings at our favorite church. The Friday after Thanksgiving is traditionally the day most people either start their Xmas shopping or decorate their home for the holidays. Pam and I will be doing her home this year in preparation for a Christmas Eve family/friends dinner and Christmas Day brunch and gift exchange for family....should be 8 of us at last count. This will be Siena's 1st Christmas and that will be enjoyable for all of us. The Christmas church fairs should begin any weekend now and I enjoy seeing home-made gifts like the good old days. Anyway you do it,folks...hope your holiday preparations go well and remember the motto of women everywhere...

Limited shopping here, but I am truly happy for those who can! Pats are doing good, but we have a heavier schedule coming at us too! Happy Holidays to All!

I think it is going to be limited shopping for most of us this year as the economy still hasn't bounced back and many people have been out of work for a long time with mounds of bills to pay. Maybe people will go back to making gifts and limiting how many gifts each family member gets; have a nice dinner; and attend church somewhere.....after all,it is His birthday we are celebrating....not ours!!!
