Like most of you, we woke up Easter morning to a fresh coat of snow overnight. We only had about an inch, and by 9 am, it was gone and the sun was shining brightly. At 10:30 am, Pam, Rob, Arlene and I drove over to Windsor to Rob's best friend's house for an Easter brunch. There was another couple and their 4 month old baby there, also. As you can see, the men-folks did the cooking. The new baby's father is hidden on the side. The 4 ladies stayed in the living room entertaining the baby and enjoying "girl-talk". Brent did most of the cooking before we got there...and the brunch was terrific. Of course, there was the occasional sneak into the kitchen for a nibble before the brunch was ready to serve. Note Pam is sneaking a sausage from the appetizer tray!! I must admit they were delicious. We had scalloped potatoes, asparagras, stuffed french toast, baked ham, dutch baby (an excellent dish like popovers which Rob made), coffee cake (which Brent made from scratch), fruit platter, chocolate covered strawberries, and a variety of cheeses with crackers and sausages which Arlene brought., and beverages. I gave Brent a lily as Pam said they had enough food since several of the original invitees had to cancel. After we finished that delightful meal, we all helped clean up and then we played a rousing card game which involved each of us having our own deck of cards and was played much like solitare with some variations. By 2 pm, the couple with the baby had to leave as the baby started to get fussy. He was very good all day, however. All in all, it was a wonderful Easter Sunday and one with a twist from my usual celebration.
