Whew....it sure is warm here in Colorado. It was 82 degrees when I got up this morning and is currently 98! Yesterday I went to the ear doctors" and when I came out at 3 pm, it was 102 degrees in their parking lot. I felt like I was in Vegas!! Sasha is escaping the heat by sleeping in the bathroom sink. I run a fan in my bedroom during the night, and run the AC with the overhead fan both on low during the daytime. Sasha loves to lay in front of the patio door and watch the dogs and people down below, but it has been too hot these past few days to have the patio door open, so she has reverted to the bathroom sink. I guess the porcelain sink feels cool to her.
After all the testing yesterday, the audiologist told me I have a mild to moderate hearing loss, and I need hearing aids in both ears. She also told me that a cheap hearing aid runs around $900 a piece, and a digital hearing aid, which people my age do best with, costs between $3000-$5000 a piece!! Guess it will be a while before I buy even ONE hearing aid at those prices since my insurance doesn't cover hearing devices and my fixed income couldn't begin to pay those prices. Unfortunately, there are no agencies in Colorado which supply hearing aids to the elderly and/or low-income sooooooo.... Please turn up the volume!!!
