Someone once said, "There's gold in them thar hills", and it sure is true here in the Front Range of Fort Collins. If you go to www.thedenverchannel.com and click on the fall foliage slideshow, you can see what our state looks like right now. Up in the Rockies, they have some reds mixed in with the yellows, but down here we have mostly aspen trees....thus the blanket of yellow!
This is the season of the year I miss Maine the most. So many memories of apple picking; leaf raking; pumpkin patches; smells of woodstove smoke in the morning air as the first fires of the fall season are lit; and the Halloween parade of youngsters down Maine Street. Out here it is still in the 80s most days, though the nights are dropping into the 40s.
New home-new memories!

You'll be alright. I'll try to get out this weekend and take some pictures to send you. They say we are near peak with low dropage so far.
It is becoming quite beautiful here! And the apples & pumpkins are growing at record rates!
I have leaves...and a rake! If you are really missing raking leaves, you are welcome to rake those starting to fall in our yard.
